right now

I’m bringing back my presence in this space today with a bit of simplicity on my part. Without further a do… right now, I AM…

…encouraging outdoor play as many hours of the day I can eek out for those children of mine.

…considering my trusty baby sling and baby seat (the only two baby contraptions, besides a car seat, that I own) to be necessary kitchen tools.

…trying to freeze a pound, or two or three or four, of beans as many days of the week I can find the energy to.

…thinking it’s about time to make my friend Megan’s yummy salsa verde enchiladas.

…finding a million and one creative ways to preserve summer squash including, but not limited to…zucchini relish, zucchini bread and butter pickles with ginger, zucchini bread for the freezer, and as many batches of these aforementioned dehydrated zucchini chips.

…napping with my wee little one each and every day.

…loving pesto and the convenience it provides for a quick, fresh, and healthy meal.

…wondering what my kids’ obsession with easter egg hunts is all about these days.

…marveling at just how much my life revolves around food…seed orders, planning, planting, harvesting, preserving, selling, farm markets, deliveries, and of course the eating and daily savoring part.

…laughing at just how many pictures I found on my camera that Jason took of a few of his beloved hot peppers.

…listening to the sounds that late summer brings.

…loving these little feet and toes.

…thrilled to be collecting eggs at (almost) full tilt. We suspect a few of our hens are holding out on us, and a few are still laying in the bushes, but we can’t quite tell who out of 15 those naughty chickens might be.

…so so SO very very happy to be back here in this little online space of mine. I’ve missed it (and all of you) so very much!!
