his sweater

It seems like forever ago that I finished my five hour baby sweater. Then it sat and waited for the little one to arrive. I knit it a little big for a few reasons. So it could be used in cooler weather, so it would hopefully fit for awhile, and because my babies tend to grow so fast the first few months…it seems they outgrown what I knit them before I can even remember to put it on them more than maybe once! I kept looking at this little sweater toward the end of my pregnancy thinking it looked so big. Then last week, as the cooler weather began to set in, I looked at it again and realized maybe it wasn’t all that big for Sorrel. So I got out the lovely wooden buttons pictured above from Wooly Moss Roots, did a late night blocking session and sewed them on. Every day ever since this guy has been wearing his sweater. It is knit with some naturally dyed yarn from Bramblebery Yarns. I think the wooden buttons complete this sweater perfectly.

I would like to knit up a couple more of these sweaters. It may just be one of my favorite knits.

Also, if you get a chance, hop on over and visit Annie’s new website for Alphabet Glue. She also has an amazing giveaway on her blog going on this week for craft supplies to accompany many of the projects in the Alphabet Glue issues.

Your camera strap cover is pretty too. :) And the buttons are completely gorgeous! Thanks for posting the link. I’ve been looking for a good wood button source on etsy. :)
