in gratitude

…for the sun that rises each and every day, even when blocked by thick clouds.
…for cold crisp biting mountain air.
…for winter snow beauty.

…for chances.
…for the ability to take those chances.
…for getting better, even if it is just a teeny smidge better.
…for the killer ab workout all this sneezing, nose blowing, and cough cough coughing said sickness is providing me with.

…for order and chaos; chaos and order…one always on the tail of the other.
…for lizards and their innate search for shadow.
…for the ability to dream how I want my life to be.

…for little boys who fall asleep on the floor right smack in front of the wood stove when they themselves don’t feel so well.
…for today, and my chance to be here now, even when maybe I think I may want to be somewhere else.
…for knowing that I am right where I belong.
